Fanatism : A radical thinking !
As we had turned the corner on the XXI century and see developments in technology, science adavances, colective consciousness on preservation of man kind, mother nature, and planet earth, I find myself wondering when will we see advances in what separates us most: Fanatism !!!!
The radical thinking with it's excessive and extravagant notions and ideologies.
Fanatism can be seen in every corner of this planet, this nation and other nations, in all sectors of society. The emotion of being filled with excesive, intensive devotion, and unreasoning enthusiasm for a specific cause (religion, politics, race ...)has a extreme intolerance of opposing views and these intolerance and irrational devotion are what separates men.
Fanatism is particularly damaging when translated into extreme religious or political cause/views. People tend to use their beliefs to separate, allienate, and in extreme cases, make use of force and violence to impose their beliefs in others.
The irony of it all is when this fanatism is seen in religion and its doutrine of preaching the good, the kind, the tolerant, and the passivism. How in the name of religions which preach the good, people can be judgemental, unkind, even violent with the ones who do not share the same views and values. Certain religions and its doutrine tend to seek to control and expand the church via force and persuation. It is indeed a Holy War.
In political views people tend to argue and even insult one another in the name of Country and its what is believed to be right for its people. Communism over free economy, democracy over militarism/dictatorship. Opinions with the solo purpose to bring solutions and better life for everyone becomes exactly the problem and what set us apart.
Why is that radical thinking always conected the feeling 'right' feeling 'better than'? Is radicalism a form of overcompensation for a lack of self esteem or collective esteem? Is a overcompensation for inferiority complex? Is an extreme cry for feeling special, different? What's so good about feeling special? Have people forgot that the normal is to fit into the norm? How far can one go in an attempt to feel so good about one self to the point of hurting other?
Maybe we should all return to the tribal thinking mode of living in and for the community we are in. A sense of collective soul, collective steem, a sense of group and belonging we all need to survive. The solution would actually may be finding what we all have in common and not much pointing out our differences. Just a thought....
